A new president has been appointed to CED, the Research Triangle’s Council for Entrepreneurial Development, an organization that promotes the training, funding, and networking of startup companies. The position goes to Joan Siefert Rose, general manager of WUNC radio and former journalist and news anchor. Her marketing and leadership skills will most likely be a boon to CED. Her bio from UNC also mentions her experience in healthcare and education in public health.
Will Rose redirect CED into the non-profit realm? I am not thoroughly familiar with CED, but to my knowlege, its past emphasis has been in the for-profit sector. If her past experience is any indicator, CED has gained a progressive leader that will push the group into new ventures. If any readers can offer more information about CED’s intended direction, please post a comment.
